our national philanthropy

Alpha Delta Pi's national philanthropy is Ronald McDonald House Charities. Our chapter specifically serves the Ronald McDonald House locations in Topeka, Kansas, and Wichita, KS where we help the Ronald McDonald House Inc. provide a "home away from home" for the families of children undergoing medical treatment.

In addition to our fundraising efforts, we actively participate in volunteering at the Ronald McDonald Houses, where we prepare meals, organize activities, and offer support to families during challenging times. These experiences allow us to connect with the families we serve, learn their stories, and see firsthand the impact our contributions make.

Through our dedication and compassion, we strive to create a comforting environment that fosters hope and healing for families in need. Being part of this mission not only strengthens our sisterhood but also deepens our commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has valued its partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and raised over $14,000,000 for the organization. There are 271 Ronald McDonald Houses in 30 countries, whose functions are to provide comfort, care, and "a home-away-from home" for the families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. More than 10 million families have utilized the Ronald McDonald houses, saving over $120 million in housing and meal expenses. At the Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Rooms, families share experiences, understanding and empathy with others whose worlds have been turned upside down.

The Alpha Delta Pi Foundation is tremendously grateful for the support of our sisters and Foundation friends who make it possible for us to provide emergency grants to members in crisis, scholarships and leadership training for collegiate and alumnae sisters, resources to fight hazing and sexual assault, funding for the preservation of monuments and memorials unique to our history, and so much more!

Service Opportunities

giving back

Here at Alpha Eta we have the privilege of serving the RMHC House in Topeka 3 times a semester. The women who volunteer do tasks such as planning menus, shopping for ingredients, cooking, and cleaning up afterward.

Additionally, we help the employees at RMHC with food organization, cleaning, and small tasks that’s need done around the house. Our job as volunteers at RMHC is to ease the burden on families by making home-cooked meals and tidying up in any way we can!

Outside of our hands-on volunteer efforts at RMHC, we also have smaller projects for the organization and in the Manhattan Community. In the Spring of 2024 we had the opportunity to make goody baskets for Mothers staying at RMHC houses in the Wichita area during the Mother’s Day time. Additionally this Fall, we partnered with Pi Kappa Alpha to hold a good drive benefitting Cats’ Cupboard and K-State Students.
