Philanthropy

defintion

Philanthropy is the act of promoting the welfare of others, typically through the generous donation of money, time, or resources to causes that improve society. It is driven by a desire to give back and support charitable efforts, often focusing on areas like education, healthcare, poverty relief, and community development.

SERVING WITH A PURPOSE

Alpha Delta Pi’s commitment to philanthropy is at the heart of its sisterhood, with members actively working to make a positive impact on their communities. The Alpha Eta Chapter at Kansas State University proudly supports the Ronald McDonald House Charities, offering a "home away from home" for families with children undergoing medical treatment. Through service events, fundraising efforts, and hands-on volunteer work, sisters of Alpha Delta Pi dedicate themselves to helping those in need. This focus on philanthropy not only strengthens bonds within the chapter but also reinforces the values of leadership, compassion, and giving back that define the sorority.

Pumpkin Patch

Each year, the women of Alpha Delta Pi proudly host the Pumpkin Patch Arts and Crafts Fair, a cherished tradition that draws individuals from the Manhattan community and beyond. As booths line Poyntz Avenue and the Manhattan Town Center, anticipation builds for this beloved event. We are always thrilled to see returning vendors and community members come together to support an incredible organization.

This past year, we celebrated the 50th Annual Pumpkin Patch Arts and Crafts Fair, welcoming countless familiar faces and showcasing a diverse array of handmade, homemade, and refurbished goods and artistry. It’s a wonderful tradition that continues to benefit a great cause, bringing our community closer together.
